Do as I say, not as I do
Every candidate for a positon in the Obama adminsitration must fill out a 63 item questionaire that is quite detailed. CNN.com reports that:“The largest part of the questionnaire asks prospective White House appointees and their spouses to list real estate and other business transactions, affiliations and relationships.” Another question is “‘Have you had any association with any person, group or business venture that could be used -- even unfairly -- to impugn or attack your character or qualifications for government service?’"During the campaign, wasn’t it the Obama campaign that repeated over and over again that past relationships and afiliations have no bearing on one’s ability to serve? The Democratic candidate for President, the most powerful position in the world, didn't have to answer these questions, but lower staff does? I guess for President it doesn’t matter but for lower staff postions we must have intense scrituny into one’s past associatons for the good of the country.
